Major Moscow's Strikes Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have caused power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and dealt with problems to water supplies, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "substantial measures" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, Europe and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and applying sanctions," he wrote in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 missiles targeted energy facilities, characterizing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were striving to restore power.

A series of attacks hit power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by city authorities.

Area administrators said the urban area experienced intense attacks throughout the evening. A young boy lost their life and several individuals were injured.

The assaults succeed periods of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to detect.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the national power system, with attacks already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
